Nokia to be back with two new Android smartphones

Following up on its plans to license its brand name and start selling smartphones, Nokia is all set for a comeback to the markets with the release of two new Android smartphones this year. According to a report on MyDrivers, a Chinese tech website, Nokia is working on two Android based smartphones.



okia’s smartphones are to be manufactured by HMD Global, which now holds license to sell Nokia branded smartphones for the next 10 years. Another report by GizmoChina says that the two phones are expected to be flagship devices with Nokia’s trademark design language.

There are a lot of leaked photos which making rounds on the internet that claim that two smartphones are likely to feature 5.2-inch and 5.5-inch displays. The report says both the devices will sport OLED display with Quad HD resolution.

Nokia smartphones will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon and will be running on Android Nougat. As Android N official launch is likely to happen in October, it is expected that Nokia phones will debut only after the Nexus launch.

Nokia sold its mobile phone business to Microsoft in 2014 after bearing losses in previous years. Under the agreement, it was excluded from bringing out its phones and tablets till 2015 end. So it is expected the company will come with Nokia devices this year.

Motorola is widely expected to launch the third-gen model of the Moto G smartphone along with the Moto X 3rd-gen on July 28th in simultaneous launch events in India, London, Sao Paulo, and New York City. Now before the official unveiling, an online retailer in Spain has listed the Moto G 3rd-gen with full details on its specs and price.
Initially, the listing mentioned that the Moto G 3rd-gen would be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, aided by 2GB of RAM. It contradicts the previous reports, which suggested a 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 SoC with 1GB of RAM. However, at the time of writing, the retailer has edited the specs to match the previous leaks.
As per the listing, the Moto G 2015 will arrive with a 5-inch HD display, and will run Android Lollipop out of the box. The phone will offer a 13MP autofocus rear camera and a 5MP front snapper. It will arrive with 8GB of flash memory, further expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card. The device will support 4G LTE networks and will be backed by a 2,470mAh battery.
According to the retailer, the Moto G 3rd-gen will be priced at EUR 199, approximately Rs 13,700, and will be available in black and white variants. We will know more in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for more updates.
