Following up on its plans to license its brand name and start selling smartphones, Nokia is all set for a comeback to the markets with the release of two new Android smartphones this year. According to a report on MyDrivers, a Chinese tech website, Nokia is working on two Android based smartphones.
okia’s smartphones are to be manufactured by HMD Global, which now holds license to sell Nokia branded smartphones for the next 10 years. Another report by GizmoChina says that the two phones are expected to be flagship devices with Nokia’s trademark design language.
There are a lot of leaked photos which making rounds on the internet that claim that two smartphones are likely to feature 5.2-inch and 5.5-inch displays. The report says both the devices will sport OLED display with Quad HD resolution.
Nokia smartphones will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon and will be running on Android Nougat. As Android N official launch is likely to happen in October, it is expected that Nokia phones will debut only after the Nexus launch.
Nokia sold its mobile phone business to Microsoft in 2014 after bearing losses in previous years. Under the agreement, it was excluded from bringing out its phones and tablets till 2015 end. So it is expected the company will come with Nokia devices this year.
